Is Your Air “Contaminated”?

  • Get a second opinion before replacing ‘contaminated’ HVAC ducting
  • Debris in HVAC ducts is rarely fungal growth
  • Debris in HVAC ducts is common
  • Get Air Testing if you’re concerned about Mold in your Home

Lately I’ve inspected 2 customer’s HVAC systems because a company from Jacksonville came out and told them they had significant “contamination” or some such bad sounding word. What they mean is mold, or microbial growth. But they’re not allowed to say that, so they intimate it.

One of my customers was sold on replacing half the ducts in the attic and installing 2 new air conditioning systems for a large sum of money.

Another customer had me inspect their ‘contaminated’ system before doing anything about it, and I found no problems at all with it.

So, watch out the cheap “HVAC Tune Up” mailers that sound too good to be true.

They are a sales call, not a tune-up.

Both of my customers had been dealing with a Jacksonville company with blue and yellow vans. (I’ve seen a lot of them driving around recently, and I also got the mailer!)

Air Testing HVAC duct loose

If you are concerned about mold or contamination or poor indoor air quality, air testing is the scientific way to tell exactly what types and levels of molds are in your air, and if it is a problem or not.

See my air testing / mold page for more info, or book an air test online ($375 for most houses)

Why listen to me? I owned and ran a mold remediation, fire damage and Bio-Hazard franchise. We cleaned HVAC ducts as part of the business. Been there, done that.
